38-yr-old woman succumbs to coronavirus at Patan Hospital



KATHMANDU: A woman infected with coronavirus has died in the course of treatment at Patan Hospital.

A 38-year-old woman, who was admitted to Patan Hospital on August 2, died in the course of treatment on Tuesday night, said Dr Bishnu Sharma, the director of the hospital.

According to Sharma, the patient was suffering from encephalitis.

However, the Ministry of Health and Population will come up with a formal announcement of the death by organizing a press meet later today.

As many as 23,948 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the country through 462,698 PCR tests so far.

Of them, 16,664 have recovered while 7,201 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, said the Ministry of Health.
