12 nabbed for trafficking in human organs

KATHMANDU: Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau of Nepal Police has nabbed 12 individuals on the charge of trafficking in human organs.

According to SP Govinda Thapaliya of the Bureau, 12 persons allegedly involved in trafficking in human organs are arrested from different parts of the country on Saturday and Sunday.

“We have nabbed 12 persons from Chitwan, Lalitpur and Kathmandu on the charge of trafficking in human organ kidneys,” SP Thapaliya said.

Among those arrested include some physicians, ward chair of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-3 and an office assistant of District Administration Office, Kathmandu.

The Bureau is preparing to make those arrested public in a press meeting soon.
