CIAA files case against Asst Forest Officer in Special Court

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court Kathmandu against then Assistant Forest Officer of District Forest Office Bara, Bindeshwor Prasad Patel on financial irregularities allegation.

According to Pradip Kumar Koirala, the spokesperson of CIAA, Patel is found involved in financial irregularities in procurement of bamboo seedlings for Bariyapur Nursery.

He is found to have made fake bill and receipt to claim the amount for the work actually not done as claimed.

CIAA has sued him in special court seeking Rs 300 thousand as the principal amount for the loss caused by his irregularities.

CIAA sources claimed that Patel presented the fake bill of the bamboo seedlings ‘procured’ for the President Chure Conservation Project.

Although the Project had got the consent to procure bamboo seedlings worth Rs 300 thousand, Patel used the seedlings already procured under another program and presented fake bill to claim the amount consented.
