NC demands seriousness from state and local governments to address pandemic situation

POKHARA: Ward chairpersons elected from Nepali Congress (NC) in Pokhara metropolis have expressed worry over irresponsibility on the part of Gandaki State government and Pokhara metropolitan city during the time of pandemic.

On behalf of ward chairs, NC Pokhara metropolis party leader and whip Ramraj Lamichhane in a statement on Monday drew serious attention of Gandaki State government and Pokhara metropolitan city towards addressing the critical time of pandemic.

He also urged the public to adopt security measures on their own rather expecting from the federal, state and local governments when the situation has become alarming due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the statement, he appealed to one and all not to come out from home except for most essential works, maintain physical distancing along with the use of sanitizer in course of trade and business activities, continue hand-washing with soap and water, wear facemasks mandatory and avoid organizing programs to contain the virus transmission.

The main opposition Nepali Congress has also urged the authorities concerned to arrange additional beds in isolation wards with number of infected reaching 147 in Pokhara alone. RSS
