KATHMANDU: Two hundred and fifty British nationals including British Gurkha soldiers and their families are flying to Britain on a flight of Titan Airways today.

They are flying to Stanford Airport in London via Dubai transit.

Earlier on Wednesday, 250 British nationals including over 100 British Gurkha soldiers flew to the UK from Kathmandu.

With the entire world under lockdown enforced to stem the spread of Coronavirus that has already affected over 209 countries, some countries are still operating charted flights. According to the rules of the World Health Organizations (WHO) the flights with passengers on board should not be operated during the lockdown.

A study has proved that the travel is the main vector of Coronavirus which has already gone pandemic across the world.

The UK has reported 7, 978 deaths from Coronavirus  after 881 died in the last 24 hours.

With 4,344 new cases, the number of infection cases has climbed to 65, 077  including Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He is undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) now.

Currently, 56, 964 people are undergoing treatment at various hospital, of which 1, 559 are critical in the country.

Nepal has entered the 17th day of the lockdown today with no death records so far. One among nine people infected with the novel virus has returned home.

The condition of remaining eight people is also normal. Given this number of infection cases, Nepal is comparatively safer than the UK. As of Wednesday, five among those Nepalis living in the UK have died from Coronavirus.

In this situation, over 100 British Gurkha soldiers are flying to the country where over 800 people are dying every day.

Britain’s current move of evacuation of British Gurkha armies has triggered a question in every single mind of Nepali people whether the UK government is taking them to fight Coronavirus in a similar manner it did during the World War II.

The evacuation raises a question what would have happened if the UK government had let them remain in Nepal until Coronavirus subsided?
