113 samples test negative for coronavirus in State-2

JANAKPURDHAM: One hundred thirteen samples of throat swab have tested negative for coronavirus in State-2 so far.

Samples were collected from 159 people and the report of 46 persons is awaited, Secretary at the State-2 Government, Ministry of Social Development, Ram Prasad Ghimire, said giving out information on measures taken in the State for prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19.

Quarantine facilities have been set up in all the eight districts of the State for keeping people who have come from India and other countries.

There are 145 such facilities with a capacity of 3,236 beds in the state. According to secretary Ghimire, 900 people are kept in quarantine in State-2 so far.

Similarly, there are 208 isolation beds and 26 people are in isolation. He added that the number of people tested for COVID-19 was expected to increase with the start of testing services at the State Hospital at Janakpurdham.

Secretary Ghimire also said that the required health workers, medicines, equipment and health protection measures have been ramped up in all the quarantine facilities.

Strict monitoring is adopted at areas in all the eight districts sharing border with India’s Bihar state.
