PM Oli to remain some more days in hospital

Will take six months for PM Oli to recover completely, doctors say

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli who underwent a second kidney transplant last Wednesday will remain in the hospital for another couple of days, doctors have said.

PM Oli was expected to be discharged on Wednesday. However, the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) says even though there has been a noticeable improvement in PM’s health condition, he will not be discharged immediately.

According to Dr Divya Singh, PM Oli’s personal doctor, one of the main reasons is that PM’s residence would not be ‘medically fit’ considering the nature of the surgery, and the fear of infection.

Dr Singh also said it will take around six months for PM Oli to recover completely.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, TUTH said Prime Minister Oli has been made to stroll around and has been provided with normal food.

Meanwhile, the health condition of Samiksha Sangraula who donated one of her kidneys to Prime Minister Oli is also recuperating. She is likely to be discharged soon, doctors said.
