POKHARA: Chief Minister of Gandaki State government, Prithvi Subba Gurung has said the state government was committed to resolving the problems seen in the construction of the Pokhara Regional International Airport.

The Chief Minister said so while conducting an on-site inspection of the under-construction airport here today. The Pokhara Regional International Airport is a project of national pride.

On the occasion, he said the construction works were continued despite the coronavirus pandemic. Chief Minister Gurung believed that the airport would be the basis of prosperity of Pokhara, the capital city of Gandaki state, once it is completed and brought into operation.

“Although it is difficult to mobilize the means and resources, including the human resources, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the problems and obstacles would be addressed through necessary facilitation with the federal government and the local level.

State government’s Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, Ram Sharan Basnet said that the State government should have representation in the task force formed for the construction of the airport. He stressed identifying the problems and addressing them.

Chief of the airport construction project Binesh Munakarmi informed that 64 percent of the construction of the airport has been completed so far.
