KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.

The meeting has been postponed to condole the demise of Ram Babu Prasain, the former treasure of the party, said party sources.

A practice has it that, NC shuts down the central party office and the district party office and lowers its flag half-mast for three days in tribute to the demise of a party office-bearer.

Even though Prasain passed away on Friday, the NC decided to shut the central and district party offices on Sunday.

It has not been certain when the next NC CWC meeting will take place.

Earlier, the CWC meeting scheduled for October 5 had been adjourned for October 11 after Central Members Arjun Narasingha KC and Gagan Thapa including invited CC members Kalpana Chaudhary and Shambhu Lal Shrestha tested positive for coronavirus.
