APF set up four additional BOPs in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: The Armed Police Force (APF) deployed for border security established four Border Outposts (BOPs) in different places along the southern border belt in a bid to ramp up security along the border areas.

The Armed Police set up the BOPs in Belauri municiplaity-2, Thapachowk, ward-10 Bhuda, Purnabas municiplaity-10 Dodha of the same municipality and Mahakali municipality-1, Bailbanda in Kanchanpur district.

Deputy Inspector General of APF Number 7 Battalion Hari Shanker Budhathoki inaugurated the BOPs.

He stated that the setup of the BOPs would be a strategic move to check infiltration of Indians from the border points.

Each BOP has been deployed with 35 APF personnel under the command of an Inspector. The APF has been carrying out round-the-clock patrol so as to prevent cross-border crimes and encroachment along the border.

With the addition, number of BOPs has reached 14 along the border area in the district, informed APF Number 35 Shaileswori SP Bir Bahadur Shahu.
