Govt to come hard on cybercrimes

KATHMANDU: The government said it would crack down on cybercrimes in the days ahead, with the growing number of incidents of cybercrimes taking place in the country, of late.

Speaking in a parliament meeting on Tuesday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Yuba Raj Khatiwada said the government is planning to set up a cyber-security and monitoring center to curb cybercrimes.

Minister Khatiwada said Nepal Telecommunications Authority and other telecommunications service providers are bringing programs to control cybercrimes.

Similarly, the government is also addressing this issue through the budget, said Khatiwada.
