Team arrives in Kapilvastu for contract tracing

KAPILVASTU: The confirmed cases of coronavirus have reached five in Kapilvastu.

Three more persons from Mayadevi and Suddhodhan Rural Municipalities were tested positive for the virus today.
Throat swab samples of 65 people remaining in quarantine established by the Mayadevi Rural Municipality were sent for the test and of them, three samples were tested positive.

All the new infected are male: one is from Abhirav of Mayadevi-2, one from Bijuwa of Mayadevi-8 and the next from Suddhodhan-6.

Two are in their eighteen and one is of seventeen. They were working at different companies in Mumbai, India before the lockdwon. They had returned home together. Others in the group are yet to be ascertained. Prior to this, two youths from Mayadevi were confirmed to have contracted the virus.

According to local representative Bijay Bahadur Yadav, the youth from Suddodhan had straightly gone to the quarantine upon his arrival from India.

But the youth from Bijuwa of Mayadevi-8 is learnt to have reached the quarantine after taking meal at home, said Mayadevi-8 ward chair Krishna Narayan Tiwari.

Preparations are underway to take his family into quarantine and take information about them, said Area Police Office Pakadi’s police inspector Ganesh Subedi. The health condition of all three is normal, said Mayadevi’s health coordinator Mahendra Yadav.

Meanwhile, a four-member team led by Ministry of Health and Population Dr Yaduchandra Ghimire has arrived Kapilvastu to indentify the contract tracing of the infected ones.
