JANAKPURDHAM: An all-party meeting held at the Siraha District Administration Office on Wednesday resolved to maintain social harmony and take legal action against those involved in vandalizing public and private property during protests.
The meeting decided to establish a coordination mechanism, hold regular meetings, and ensure the effective implementation of decisions aimed at preserving communal harmony. It also agreed to widely publicize its decisions.
Chief District Officer Surendra Paudel said programmes promoting social harmony would be organized with the participation of political parties, civil society representatives, and leaders from different religious communities.
Paudel added that authorities would identify individuals spreading fake news and unnecessarily inciting tensions through social media, with legal action to be taken against those found responsible.
The meeting also expressed sorrow over the recent incident at Dewangunj Rural Municipality in Sunsari district.
