Health workers demand safety gear



SURKHET: Health workers of Karnali State have demanded safety gear to carry out works in fear-free atmosphere in the wake of the spread of coronavirus.

The health workers working especially in the mountainous districts of Karnali State complained that it would be quite difficult for them to continue works smoothly in lack of health equipment and safety accessories.

In-charge of Ransa Health Post at Tila rural municipality-9, Harka Bahadur Rawat, said that health workers involved in treatment of COVID-19 suspects face higher risk, so proper safety measures are essential in place.

Even the surgical masks were not available.

Meanwhile, chief of Health Service Office, Jumla, Krishna Prasad Sapkota, said a set of PPE had been provided to 30 health facilities in each district of the State.
