President Bhandari’s gift handed over to Qatar’s National Museum

KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Qatar Dr Narad Nath Bharadwaj today handed over a Nepali carpet gifted by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to the National Museum of Qatar.

Bharadwaj handed over the gift to Ahmad Musa Al-Namla, the CEO of the Qatar Museums amid a function recently.

The carpet was made by Nepali craftsmen in Kathmandu at the instruction of President with a view to display it at the Qatari museum as an artistic creation of the Nepali handicraft industry, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Doha.

President Bhandari actually wanted to gift the carpet to the museum during her state visit to Qatar in October 2018.

The carpet has been entirely handmade with the finest Tibetan wool and the silk yarns.
