‘Passing Brexit law would be significant’

LONDON: A vote to approve the laws required to implement the Brexit deal would be a ‘significant positive step’, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesman has said.

The British Parliament is likely to approve the legislation in a vote this evening.

The legislation specifies the terms of Britain’s transition out of the European Union and heads to parliament’s upper chamber.

It is expected to be endorsed in time to allow Britain to leave on January 31. (Agencies)
