NEW DELHI: Foreign diplomats on Thursday visited India-ruled Kashmir for the first time since the government stripped the region of special status in August 2019.
The region was under restrictions after India last year revoked decades-old laws granting Kashmir autonomy and statehood.
The trip of foreign diplomats include meetings with the army, politicians, civil society members and journalists selected by the security services, international media reports have said.
India had not given permission to foreign journalists to visit Kashmir since August last year.
Meanwhile, the visiting diplomats will not be given access to Omar Abdullah. (Agencies)
