Highways obstructed as Sudur Paschim highlands witness snowfall

DADELDHURA: Heavy snowfall has taken place in high altitude areas of Sudur Paschim state for the third time this year.

Main highways have been obstructed and normal life has been affected due to snowfall.

The snowfall has been taking place from Wednesday night. The locals have been facing chilling cold after snowfall at high-mountainous areas of Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Bajhang, Doti, Achham, Bajura and Darchula districts.

Mostly, elderly persons, children and working-class people have been affected due to snowfall.

The main highways of Sudur Paschim state– Bhimdutta highway, Dasharathchand highway and Jayprithvi highway have been completely obstructed due to snowfall, said Chief of District Police Office, Dadeldhura, Dadhiram Neupane.

Neupane said that some vehicles have been trapped in snowfall. Although dozers have been used to remove snowfall and resume traffic but went in vain as snowfall has been continuously taking place, he added.
