RTI, required condition for human rights: Minister Gurung



KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung has said the government has focused on the enhancement of information technology so as to ensure human rights are protected.

Speaking at a virtual program organized on the occasion of 72nd International Human Rights Day here today, the Communications Minister shared the expansion of internet service to villages was taking place with priority to make people informed.

‘’The Right to Information is a necessary condition for guaranteeing human rights and rights activists and media persons’ role is significant to promote this’’, he added.

On a different note, Minister Gurung, also the government’s Spokesperson, assured that the government was at work to ensure required provisions for making available a COVID-19 vaccine to the people soon.

The government was aware that people should not be left to be disappointed, and they should feel that they be totally involved in the nation building campaign, and it was working for the same, he said.

He expected rights activists to be always lending their support to such a campaign. RSS
