KATHMANDU: Search and rescue operations continue 12 days after the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa, with the government intensifying efforts under a one-door system for relief and rescue operations.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 1,341 bodies have been recovered so far, while 13,104 people have been rescued.
The number of people still unaccounted for stands at 4,916, according to the authority.
Of the 1,341 bodies recovered, only 98 have so far been identified and handed over to their families.
Authorities have estimated that the number of missing people could fluctuate as many individuals remain unaccounted for and search operations continue.
