Federal lawmakers of ruling NCP emphasize on party unity

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) are organizing a press conference today to make public the signatures that they have collected to pressurize the party leadership for party unity.

The campaign has been initiated as the party leadership is involved in disputes, particularly on power-sharing issues.

According to the lawmakers emphasizing on party unity, lawmakers close to Prime Minister KP Oli, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have already collected signatures, which will be made public today.

The intra-party dispute in the party has taken a new height in recent times after PM Oli and Dahal have remained adamant to their respective stances.

While Dahal and Nepal have been demanding Oli’s resignation from either one of the posts – Prime Minister or party Chairman – PM Oli is sticking to his stand of not stepping down.
