KATHMANDU: A sexagenarian man has succumbed to coronavirus in Pokhara on Saturday evening, taking the death toll from the pandemic in Nepal to 74.

A 62-year-old man from Pokhara-19, Lamachaur died at 11:35 pm at the Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara, the hospital said in a statement on Sunday morning.

He was diabetic and was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital after being diagnosed with the coronavirus on August 1.

Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus had reached 73 as of Saturday afternoon after three deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam had said that one each from Parsa, Morang and Kathmandu have succumbed to coronavirus.

Nepal had confirmed 378 fresh cases in the last 24 hours that took the national tally to 22,592.
