KATHMANDU: Although the Kathmandu Valley has recorded growing cases of coronavirus of late, the people have not stopped crowding.

The government enforced the nationwide lockdown for 120 days, but the infection did not decline since it was lifted- thanks to the crowds and people’s negligence.

On the Kathmandu Valley streets, some people are found walking even without wearing masks, thereby contributing to foment the risk.

The Ministry of Health and Population has alerted that there were rising cases of infection from New Road, Asan and Indra Chowk. But, the people here do not seem perturbed. The shops are running.

Moreover, the odd-even scheme of transport has not decreased vehicles in the Kathmandu Valley. It is to further spread the coronavirus.

In this connection, Spokesperson at Kathmandu metropolitan city, Ishworman Dangol, said the traders in New Road, Asan and Indra Chowk were urged not to run shops but essential service. “If the traders are found disobeying KMC direction, they will be taken strong action,” he warned.

Similarly, the public vehicles running in the Kathmandu Valley have not maintained adequate safety measures.

Meanwhile, the district administration offices from the Kathmandu Valley, have decided to run only essential services for two weeks to be effective from Sunday.
