Police use water canon to disperse protestors in Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Police intervened in a protest staged by activists and traders in front of the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday.

Police dispersed the demonstrators by using water canon.

Demonstrators, carrying placards and wearing masks, criticized the government for pressurizing people to pay taxes when the country is in a nationwide lockdown.

They also alleged the government for coming with a policy that would allow patients to get discharged without tests for coronavirus if they do not show any symptoms.

Demonstrators also came down heavily on the government for involving in corruption even at a time when the country is in a lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic.
