Youth kills parents in Tehrathum



TEHRATHUM: A youth murdered his parents at Ishibu of Phedap rural municipality-5 in Tehrathum district.

Kanchan Limbu, 20, attacked his father Rup Bahadur Limbu, 42, and step-mother Isha Khapung Limbu, 35, with an axe on Thursday evening, killing them instantaneously.

Police reached the scene after Kanchan himself dialed 100 and called the police saying that he murdered his parents.

According to the police, they had been following Kanchan from the time he called them. A team of the Poklabang police station arrested him while on the run, said police Inspector Tej Bahadur Dahal.

Preliminary investigation showed Kanchan killed his parents over minor family dispute.

The dead couple has a seven-month-old daughter and her elder uncle Dev Bahadur Phombo has taken her custody.
