Tiger mauls local representative in Bardiya



GULARIYA: A local government member has sustained serious injuries after a tiger attacked him on Thursday.

Mayaram Khanal, 65, ward member of rural municipality-4 Geruwa was attacked by a Royal Bengal tiger while he was grazing buffalo on the fringe of Bardiya National Park, according to Dil Bahadur BC, a local.

The tiger, hiding in the tall grass, pounced upon him and mauled him in the back, neck, and chest.

Khanal is receiving treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College.
