Dharan hosts commercial zip flyer adventure in Province-1



DHARAN: Commercial operation of a zip flyer has begun in State 1.

Chief Minister of State-1, Sherdhan Rai inaugurated the 650-meter-long pioneer zip flyer project.

The zip flyer starts from the takeoff station in Bhedetar and runs up to the landing station of Debhithan in Dharan-4.

Chief Minister Rai extended pledged all possible support to this new tourism product of the State.

The Worldwide Nepal Group Private Limited, which owns the project, said that the project was conceptualized some two years ago and has been constructed in around four months.

Bibas Bhandari, the proprietor of the zip flyer, said they hired expert technicians from Austria and procured high-quality equipment from the USA to operate the service.

Bhandari, who is also one of the owners of the 1,100-meter-long Dhulikhel Zip Flyer in Kabhrepalanchowk, said the maximum depth from the zip flyer line is 300 meter and the height difference between takeoff and landing station is 43 meters.

According to him, the height of the takeoff station is 1,420 meters from the sea level.

Likewise, the 16-mm diameter zip line cable has a load capacity of 11 thousand and three hundred kilograms.

This has added charm to already popular traveling locations in the vicinity as Indian tourists from neighboring Indian states of West Bengal and Bihar are likely to be attracted to this new adventure, along with the domestic tourists.

Nepali nationals are charged at Rs. 1,200, Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 2,000 respectively.

Likewise, SAARC nationals are charged 15 dollars, 16 dollars and 20 dollars.

Meanwhile, for tourists from the rest of the world, the charge is 18, 20 and 22 dollars respectively.
