Tasmanian student, who traveled to Nepal, tests positive for coronavirus



SYDNEY: A Tasmanian student in his 20s has tested positive for coronavirus.

He arrived in Tasmania on 26 February. He had traveled to Nepal, transiting through Singapore and Sydney to Hobart, according to 7news.com.au said.

According to health authorities, the man, who was advised to self-isolate, did not comply.

A student at Australian Ideal College, who attended the college twice briefly, also worked casual shifts at the Grand Chancellor Hotel in the past week.

Health authorities are currently working with Grand Chancellor Hotel to identify any members of the public or co-workers who may be identified as ‘close contacts’.
