One killed, six injured in Baitadi jeep accident



BATIDATI: One person died and six others were injured in a road accident that took place at Patan of Baitadi this morning.

The accident took place when a jeep with ‘on test’ number 1257 fell some 250 meters below the road at Pantoli in ward no-6 of Patan municipality.

The deceased has been identified as the jeep driver Dhan Singh Badal,35, a resident of Duhu rural municipality in Darchula.

The injured are Surendra Bam,23, Harak Singh Badal,38, Prem Ballav Joshi, 41, Dhanraj Joshi,41, Hemanti Bom,20 and Dropati Joshi,22, according to police. Of the injured, the condition of four is reported to be critical.

The injured have been referred to a more advanced hospital outside the district. The reason behind the accident is not yet known, DSP Dilli Narayan Pandey said.
