International Women’s Day: VP Pun lays emphasis on women’s rights implementation

KATHMANDU: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that attention of all sides should be oriented for the overall development of women through the implementation of constitutionally guaranteed rights for the country’s economic prosperity and women’s rights.

In a message today on the occasion of the 110th International Women’s Day, the Vice President has said Nepal’s economic prosperity was not likely without empowering women politically, socially and economically.

The Vice President has expressed the confidence that International Women’s Day, will encourage all Nepalis to move ahead unitedly for the overall development of Nepali women and the country’s overall development.

Stating that it was a pleasing movement that the Constitution of Nepal has largely empowered women, the Vice President has termed increased access to and participation of women in elected body, government service, employment, health, education and other sectors as the positive aspects.
