Province 1 witnesses 61 new cases on Saturday

KATHMANDU: Province 1 has seen 61 more cases of coronavirus on Saturday.

According to the Ministry for Social Development of Province 1, 48 swabs from Morang, 10 from Sunsari and three from two districts of Province 2—Mahottari and Saptari—all tested in Province 1 came out with coronavirus positive result.

The Ministry’s details disclosed that out of the coronavirus positive cases of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, seven are females and 26 are males, whereas Budhi Ganga Rural Municipality has got 12 cases, all males.

Katahari and Dhapal Rural Municipalities and Urlabari Municipality have got one female case each.

Likewise, Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City has seen two male and 2 female cases on Saturday. Duhabi got three males and 1 female whose swab tested positive on Saturday.

Likewise, Inaruwa Municipality got two male cases today.

The Ministry also added that one male and one female from Mahottari and one male from Saptari whose swabs had been tested in Biratnagar also came out with a COVID-19 positive report.

Province 1 had carried the PCR tests of 1,534 swabs out of which 61 came up with COVID-19 positive results.

Sources claim that 3 journalists of Biratnagar have also tested coronavirus positive.

The province has conducted the PCR test of 51,666 people till date out of which 1,383 have tested coronavirus positive.
