KATHMANDU: With the 62 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, the total caseload in Kathmandu Valley has reached 1,044.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Jageshwor Gautam, 56 people have been found infected with coronavirus in Kathmandu while three in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur in the last 24 hours in a test conducted at National Laboratory, Teku, Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj, Star Hospital, Lalitpur, Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Patan Hospital and Korea Nepal Friendship Hospital in Bhaktapur.
Tests conducted at National Public Health Laboratory confirmed infection in four from Kathmandu, five from Kathmandu and three from Lalitpur in Patan Hospital, one from Kathmandu at Bir Hospital, one from Kathmandu at TU Teaching Hospital and 29 from Kathmandu at Nepal Police Hospital.
Likewise, 12 from Kathmandu tested positive at Star Hospital, two from Kathmandu at BIDH lab and three from Bhaktapur and two from Kathmandu at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital.
Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cases has reached 822 in Kathmandu alone while 137 in Lalitpur and 85 in Bhaktapur.
A total of 106 people were diagnosed infected with the pandemic virus on Friday.
The number of people infected from the coronavirus has been increasing day by day after the lockdown has been ended formally.
The government has tightened security at the entrance to the Valley and stopped traffic from 7 pm to 7 am as the number of coronavirus infections has increased.
The traffic has been closed from 9 pm to 5 am with effect from Thursday morning and an odd-even vehicle rule in currently in place.
