Nepal prepares to lift int’l flight ban for 10 days



KATHMANDU: The Nepal government is making preparations to lift ban on the international flights for 10 days to bring Nepali people stranded abroad.

A proposal has been submitted at the High Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19  to lift the international ban to this effect.

There have been no international flights conducted at the initiation of the Nepal government to bring back Nepali people stranded in various countries abroad so far.

Few days ago, the United Arab Emirates and Myanmar had brought Nepali people stranded in their countries on their own flights.

The government is preparing to allow all the airlines companies to bring back the stranded Nepalis under the planning of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, according to sources.

A proposal has been submitted at the High Level Coordination Committee to lift the ban for 10 days,  allowing the airline companies to conduct flights for the rescue of Nepali people, said an official at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. .
