Minister Bhatta warns of action against creating artificial shortage of essentials



KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Lekhraj Bhatta has warned of stern action against those trying to create an artificial shortage of essentials and petroleum products.

“The government is closely monitoring the market so as to ensure smooth supply of essentials amidst coronavirus fear,” he said at a face-to-face program organized here on Saturday.

On the occasion, Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal stressed the need for cooperation between the government and private sector to minimize the impact of coronavirus that is fast spreading across the world.

Member of the Consumer Protection Council, Prem Lal Maharjan called for not creating unnecessary fear and havoc regarding the infection.
