Teacher who made students cut their hands arrested

KATHMANDU: A teacher of the Jadibuti-based Jagriti Academy Sita Laxmi Karmacharya has been arrested on the charge of making students cut their hands for scoring less in exams.

Kathmandu Police Chief Uttamraj Subedi confirmed that Karmacharya has been arrested by a police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, New Baneshwor.

The teacher had made her 34 students of classes six and seven cut their hands with a blade for scoring less in the exams.

The school had sacked the teacher after the incident was made public.
