KATHMANDU: Supreme Court (SC) has given its verdict annulling the writ filed by the daughter of former King Gyanendra, Prerana Rajya Laxmi Shah, who had claimed that the land currently under the Nepal Trust had come to her as dowry.

A constitutional bench of five justices, including Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, gave the verdict saying that the Chhauni-based land belonged to the Trust.

Prerana Shah had filed a writ petition at the SC claiming that she had received the land as dowry before the Interim Constitution was implemented.

The constitutional bench consisted of CJ Rana, and Justices Mira Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, Anil Kumar Sinha and Prakash Man Singh Raut.
