KATHMANDU: A lawyer has been arrested on the charge of receiving Rs 4.2 million by promising of getting a person released from jail.

A team of police from the Metropolitan Crime Division arrested advocate Tanka Ranamagar of the Maitighar-based Jananyayik Legal Service Center.

According to police, Ranamagar had received the kickback from family members of one Ramesh Dahal who has been remanded to jail on a revenue evasion case.
