HoR meeting scheduled for 1 pm today

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) is meeting at 1 pm on Friday.

The session of the HoR on Thursday was obstructed by the main opposition, Nepali Congress (NC), alleging the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) of being discriminatory in the Lalita Niwas land grab scam.

The anti-graft constitutional body CIAA on Wednesday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against 175 people including former Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy-leader of the NC Parliamentary Party, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, indicting them in the Lalita Niwas land scandal.

The meeting of the HoR was postponed without entering the agenda due to the obstruction of the lawmakers of the main opposition party.

NC lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal had objected corruption case was filed against some ministers and secretaries but some political and administrative leaders have been given a clean chit.
