Pakistani document certifies Hizbul chief Salahuddin as ISI ‘bona fide’ official

NEW DELHI: A new Pakistani document by the Directorate of Intelligence has certified that banned terror group Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Muhammad Yousaf Shah alias Syed Salahuddin has been a “bona fide official” working with the ISI.

Salahuddin, who also leads the United Jihad Council, an umbrella organization of terrorist outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), has the security clearance which clearly states that he should not be stopped at the security checkpoints, media reports have said.

The letter has been issued in the name of commanding officer Wajahat Ali Khan. It says it is certified with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Islamabad, according to the TOI.

‘Will travels in a Land Cruiser, security-wise cleared’

“He is bona fide official of ISI,” the letter says sharing details of the vehicle – a Toyota Land Cruiser ZX (V8) – in which the terrorist travels, according to the report.

The letter further says Salahuddin is security-wise cleared and he should not be stopped.

The letter, valid till December 31, 2020, nails Pakistan’s lies of act against terrorism exposing its support to terrorism emanating from its soil.

FATF likely to see the new Pakistani document

The FATF is likely to analyze and verify Pakistan’s progress to counter money-laundering as well as terror financing.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had earlier said India has been lobbying hard to put Pakistan on the blacklist at FATF.

He had also said that the country’s economy would be destroyed if this happens.

According to PM Khan, Pakistan would suffer the challenges faced by Iran if the country was placed on the blacklist.
