Rs 200 cashback in online payment for COVID-19 test

KATHMANDU: BIDH Lab that has been performing RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 with the fee less than fixed by the government has made an arrangement for paying the charge online.

An additional Rs 200 discount can be obtained by paying the COVID-19 test fee online, according to the lab.

BK Bhandari, director of the lab, said that the arrangement of paying online would help in reducing the possible risks of contracting the coronavirus.

The fee for the RT-PCR test can be paid currently through either digital payment service providers Esewa or Khalti.

“Considering the current complexity, we have made arrangements to pay the amount online,” he said, “By paying the test fee through the mobile wallets, the service recipient will get an additional Rs 200 cashback.”

The lab has been charging Rs 4,000 for the COVID-19 test and payment from mobile wallets will be entitled with a discount of Rs 200.

The government has fixed the charge for a PCR test at Rs 5,500.
