Two more die of coronavirus in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Two more coronavirus deaths have been confirmed on Friday evening.

A 58-year-old man succumbed to the virus while undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar, said medical superintendent Dr. Chuman Lal Das. With this, the city recorded three deaths today itself.

A private hospital had referred the person to Koshi Hospital after he suffered fever, cough and respiratory problems for a week.

The hospital has initiated a process for the management of the dead body, added Dr. Das.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a 65-year-old man who died at Narayani Temporary Corona Hospital on Friday morning.

According to Chief Medical Superintendent of Narayani Hospital Dr. Madan Kumar Upadhyaya, the test report of the man has come positive this evening.

The elderly man, who was suffering from asthma, was admitted to the hospital with a fever and respiratory problems on Thursday evening.

Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus had reached 70 as of Friday afternoon after five deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam had said that three from Parsa and one each from Siraha and Sarlahi have succumbed to coronavirus.
