KATHMANDU: Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus reached 70 as of Friday afternoon after five deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that three from Parsa and one each from Siraha and Sarlahi have succumbed to coronavirus.

A 45-year-old man from Birgunj in Parsa succumbed to coronavirus at Patan Hospital on Thursday, a 79-year-old man from Birgunj who died at his house on Tuesday has tested positive for coronavirus and a 57-year-old man from Birgunj died while undergoing treatment at Gandak Hospital, he said.

Likewise, a 25-year-old man from Siraha died at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences on Thursday and a 45-year-old man from Sarlahi breathed his last at Patan Hospital yesterday.

Meanwhile, Nepal confirmed 464 fresh cases in the past 24 hours that took the national tally to 22,214.
