PM Oli’s swab sample collected for COVID-19 test

KATHMANDU: A swab sample of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli has been collected for coronavirus test.

Press Adviser to PM Oli Surya Thapa said that the swabs of Prime Minister Oli and his advisers were collected for the coronavirus test on Friday.

“Samples of everyone in the prime minister’s close contact are being tested,” Thapa said, adding that the prime minister had undergone test earlier and the result was negative.

On Thursday, it was revealed that Gyanendra Yadav, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 2, who had tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday, had met Prime Minister, Home Minister, the Inspector General of Police and Law Minister among others in Kathmandu.

Minister Yadav had a meeting with Prime Minister Oli, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane in Baluwatar.
