Sudurpaschim Province reports 17 fresh coronavirus cases



KATHMANDU: A test conducted at Seti Provincial Hospital has confirmed coronavirus infection in 17 more people from Sudurpaschim Province.

The hospital said in a statement that among the newly-infected are nine women and eight men.

Dilip Kumar Shrestha, Information Officer at Seti Hospital, said that 449 samples tested in the last 24 hours have confirmed the infection in 16 people from Kailali and one from Kanchanpur.

According to him, 12 people including five women and seven men of Tikapur Municipality of Kailali, three women and one man of Godavari Municipality of Kailali, a 22-year-old girl of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis-12 and a 30-year-old woman of Bhimdatta Municipality-6 of Kanchanpur have been confirmed to have contracted coronavirus.

With the new cases, the provincial tally has reached 4,907 with 3,662 recovered.

Sudurpaschim has recorded nine deaths from the pandemic so far.
