6,000 Nepalis enter through two checkpoints in Sudurpaschim



LAMKI: Nepali citizens in different cities of India stranded due to the lockdown have been entering Nepal daily since the beginning of the Nepali month of Jeshta (May/June).

More than 6,000 Nepalis have entered Nepal through two checkpoints in Sudurpaschim Province on Saturday.

A total of 6,499 Nepali citizens entered Nepal on Saturday from Gaddachauki of Kanchanpur and Gauriphanta of Kailali.

Similarly, 524 Indian nationals have also left Nepal through the checkpoints.

According to the Sudurpaschim Provincial Police Office, Dipayal, 906 Nepalis had entered the Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur on Saturday and 199 Indian nationals had left.

Although the number of people entering through the checkpoint has decreased, the number of people entering through the Gauriphanta checkpoint in Kailali has increased compared to Friday.

According to the Far Sudurpaschim Police Office, 5,593 Nepali nationals entered the country through the checkpoint on Saturday and 325 Indian nationals left.
