Saudi Arabia to cut migrant workers’ salary by 40%

KATHMANDU: The employment providing companies in Saudi Arabia are planning to deduct salary of the migrant workers by 40 percent amidst Coronavirus pandemic.

Thousands of Nepal migrant are likely to to be hit after the Sadudi Arab government permitted the companies to cut their salary by 40 percent.

According to Asharq AL-awsat, a daily newspaper of Saudi Arabia, the government has allowed the companies to lay off the staffers after the novel virus had a bad impact on the country’s economy.

If the coronavirus pandemic continues, the companies also will revoke the contract with the employees after six months.

Around 400,000 Nepali migrant workers are working in Saudi Arabia.
