COVID-19 tests start from 10 labs across Nepal



KATHMANDU: Tests for COVID-19 haves started from 10 different places across the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, labs in Kathmandu, Dharan, Hetauda, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, Dhangadhi, Dhulikhel, Bharatpur and Bhairahawa have started testing samples for COVID-19.

The Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory has so far tested 1,697 samples for COVID-19.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Monday, Health Ministry Spokesperson Bikash Devkota informed that 107 people including 12 in Kathmandu are put in isolation across the country.

A total of 9,168 people have been quarantined, Spokesperson Devkota said.

He added that National Ambulance Service, Health Ministry and Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) have agreed to put 10 ambulances in Kathmandu on standby.

Five ambulances of National Ambulance Service, four of the Ministry and one of KMC will be put on standby.
