Foreigners robbed at Thamel during lockdown



KATHMANDU: Foreigners have been robbed at Thamel area, a tourist hub in Kathmandu during the lockdown.

According to Metropolitan Police Circle Durbar Marg, British national Gregory Hines and Italian national Simona Mariucci were manhandled and robbed on Saturday evening.

An unidentified gang of people manhandled and looted them while they were going to have their dinner to a restaurant via a narrow alley, Gregory, one the victims, who came into contact following the incident, told  Khabarhub.

“We were manhandled and looted by a gang of criminals while we were walking in a narrow alley at Paknajol in Thamel,” he said. British national Gregory has sustained eye and forehead injuries in the incident.

The thugs also looted their Rs 3,000. Police said they are investigating the case and trying to nab the robbers.
