KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) on Thursday said that it will wage a political ‘war’ along with seeking a legal remedy against the filing of a graft case in Lalita Niwas land grab scam.

Speaking at a press meet organized at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma accused the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) of filing the case being based on political prejudice.

Sharma further accused the constitutional anti-graft body of giving immunity to some people by diverting the main issue of the case.

He said that the party’s vice-president Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar implicated in the case will face the legal proceedings.

The anti-graft constitutional body on Wednesday lodged a corruption case against Gachchhadar at the Special Court alleging him of facilitating the land grab through the expansion of the Prime Minister’s official residence when he was the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Planning.
