KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has called a meeting of the party Secretariat today.
Prachanda, who walked out frustrated from the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar after holding talks with Prime Minister KP Oli on Thursday, is scheduled to hold “serious talks” with the party Secretariat members at the party central office in Dhumbarahi.
“Dahal has called Secretariat members at the party office this afternoon at 3 pm,” a Secretariat member said.
Chairman Prachanda informed NCP Deputy Leader of the parliamentary party Subash Chandra Nemwang, who had reached Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar to meet him this morning that he would be holding separate talks with Secretariat members.
The NCP has reached a critical juncture of late owing to serious differences between NCP Chairman Dahal and Prime Minister Oli.
Dahal has been insisting that Prime Minister needs to implement the decisions of the Standing Committee decision made previously.
The nine-member Secretariat include KP Oli, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Bishnu Poudel, Ishwar Pokhrel and Ram Bahadur Thapa.
